Culture and Recreation

With a steadily growing population of just more than 19,000, residents of Windsor can select from a variety of recreational activities in many locations throughout the community. In addition to picturesque Windsor Lake, more than 200 acres of land have been dedicated to parks and recreational facilities. These include an outdoor swimming pool, two outdoor in-line hockey rinks, a skate park, two dog parks, more than 40 miles of walking, biking and in-line skating paths, several playground/sport/recreational parks and the Windsor Community Recreation Center.

Several museums, concert venues, dinner theaters and a variety of other entertainment establishments within easy reach give Windsor a cultural advantage.

Boardwalk Park is the place to be for the best in culture and entertainment. The park is home to the free Summer Concert Series, which features local and regional bands playing everything from jazz and ’40s big band sounds to country and rock music. Enjoy this entertainment every Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. throughout the summer months.
